HSE Safety Supervisor
Job summary
To promote and maintain a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace by implementing, monitoring, and enforcing company and statutory HSE policies. The HSE Safety Supervisor ensures compliance with safety standards, conducts inspections, trains staff, and drives continuous improvement in safety performance across all operations.
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Monitor site safety compliance daily, including PPE usage.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and briefings on site-specific hazards.
- Assist in enforcing HSE policies and site rules among workers and subcontractors.
- Report unsafe acts and conditions immediately to the HSE Officer or Site Supervisor.
- Assist during emergency evacuations and drills, guiding workers to assembly points.
- Inspect work areas regularly to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Support incident/near-miss reporting and assist in preliminary investigations.
- Ensure first aid kits and fire extinguishers are in place and accessible on site.
- Remind workers to maintain good housekeeping practices (e.g., clear walkways, proper material stacking).
- Act as the liaison between workers and the HSE Officer for safety concerns.
- Ensure visitors and new workers receive site safety inductions before entry.
- Observe high-risk activities (e.g., working at heights, confined spaces) and stop unsafe operations if immediate danger is observed.
Requirements:
- Excellent knowledge of HSE laws, risk assessment, and emergency procedures.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HSE reporting tools.
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety excellence.
- Integrity, vigilance and the ability to influence compliance diplomatically.
