Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing:
- Collect, review, and process payroll data for all employees, including new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and deductions.
- Calculate and verify payroll amounts, including wages, overtime, bonuses, and commissions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports, pay stubs, and tax documents to employees on a timely base is.
Benefits Administration:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits, ensuring accurate enrollment, deductions, and eligibility tracking.
- Coordinate with benefits providers and vendors to resolve employee inquiries, address coverage issues, and facilitate open enrollment periods.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and tax requirements, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, including quarterly and year-end reports, in accordance with regulatory deadlines.
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing documentation and support as needed to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Recordkeeping and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and organized payroll records, including employee information, earnings, deductions, and tax withholding forms.
- Update and maintain employee payroll files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
- Prepare and distribute annual tax forms, such as W-2s and 1099s, to employees and regulatory agencies.
Payroll System Management:
- Utilize payroll software or systems to process payroll transactions, maintain employee records, and generate payroll reports.
- Troubleshoot payroll system issues, liaise with technical support teams, and implement system updates or enhancements as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in payroll administration, preferably in a healthcare or diagnostic laboratory setting.
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and tax requirements.
- Proficiency in payroll software or systems, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels.
