Job Summary

The HR Payroll Officer is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing and administration for all employees of the medical diagnostic company. This role involves managing payroll-related tasks, such as data entry, payroll processing, benefits administration, and compliance with relevant payroll laws and regulations.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing:

  • Collect, review, and process payroll data for all employees, including new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and deductions.
  • Calculate and verify payroll amounts, including wages, overtime, bonuses, and commissions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports, pay stubs, and tax documents to employees on a timely base is.


Benefits Administration:

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits, ensuring accurate enrollment, deductions, and eligibility tracking.
  • Coordinate with benefits providers and vendors to resolve employee inquiries, address coverage issues, and facilitate open enrollment periods.


Compliance and Reporting:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and tax requirements, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, including quarterly and year-end reports, in accordance with regulatory deadlines.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing documentation and support as needed to ensure accuracy and compliance.


Recordkeeping and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and organized payroll records, including employee information, earnings, deductions, and tax withholding forms.
  • Update and maintain employee payroll files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Prepare and distribute annual tax forms, such as W-2s and 1099s, to employees and regulatory agencies.


Payroll System Management:

  • Utilize payroll software or systems to process payroll transactions, maintain employee records, and generate payroll reports.
  • Troubleshoot payroll system issues, liaise with technical support teams, and implement system updates or enhancements as needed.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in payroll administration, preferably in a healthcare or diagnostic laboratory setting.
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and tax requirements.
  • Proficiency in payroll software or systems, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels.
