Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:


  • Ensure full compliance with the Nigerian Labour Act and statutory obligations, including HMO, pension (PENCOM), NSITF, ITF, and employee documentation.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve HR policies, SOPs, KPIs, and performance management frameworks.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including manpower planning, sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
  • Oversee employee onboarding and offboarding, ensuring compliance, documentation, and smooth transitions.
  • Coordinate and manage performance reviews, goal-setting processes, and employee development initiatives.
  • Handle employee relations, including grievances, disciplinary procedures, investigations, and exits.
  • Build, reinforce, and sustain a strong organisational culture aligned with company values and business goals.
  • Train and support line managers on people management, performance management, and compliance best practices.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records using Notch HR or similar HRIS platforms.
  • Provide strategic HR support to leadership on workforce planning, organisational development, and succession planning.
  • Prepare and present HR reports, insights, and recommendations to management.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, social sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience in a generalist or people & culture HR role.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Nigerian Labour Act and statutory compliance requirements (HMO, pension, NSITF, ITF).
  • Proven experience building HR structures, policies, SOPs, KPIs, and performance systems from scratch or improving existing ones.
  • Hands-on experience using HRIS platforms such as Notch HR or similar systems.
  • Solid experience managing recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and exit processes.
  • Strong people management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work independently while providing strategic HR guidance to leadership.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and ethical judgement.
