Job summary

We are seeking a reliable, hygienic, and well-organised Housekeeper/Cook to support the daily upkeep of Stargem Properties’ apartments and provide cooking services when required. The role combines housekeeping duties with meal preparation, ensuring that apartments are clean, comfortable, and adequately supported during guest occupancy. The successful candidate must be willing to reside within the apartment during periods when guests are present, ensuring prompt support, cleanliness, meal preparation, and overall smooth day-to-day operations.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

Housekeeping & Apartment Upkeep:

  • Clean and maintain apartments to high hygiene and presentation standards.
  • Ensure bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and common areas are consistently neat and guest-ready.
  • Wash, change, and manage linens, towels, and household items as required.
  • Identify and promptly report maintenance issues, damages, or replacements needed.


Cooking & Meal Preparation:

  • Prepare meals for guests or occupants when required.
  • Plan simple menus and ensure meals are prepared in a hygienic and timely manner.
  • Assist with food preparation, serving, and kitchen cleanliness.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of food items.


Errands, Shopping & Supplies Management:

  • Run market errands and purchase groceries and household supplies.
  • Monitor inventory of food items, cleaning materials, toiletries, and consumables.
  • Manage supplies efficiently and minimise wastage.


Guest Support:

  • Support basic guest needs related to housekeeping and meals.
  • Ensure apartments are properly prepared before guest arrival and maintained throughout occupancy.
  • Escalate guest issues or concerns to management when necessary.


Reporting & Record Keeping:

  • Prepare simple daily or weekly updates on apartment condition, supplies, and general support activities.
  • Keep basic records of expenses for groceries, cleaning items, and errands.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of OND qualification (any discipline).
  • Proven experience in housekeeping, cleaning, hospitality, or domestic support roles is an advantage.
  • Ability to cook Nigerian and basic continental meals.
  • Willingness and ability to reside in the apartment during guest occupancy periods.
  • Honest, reliable, and detail-oriented.
  • Physically fit and able to handle cleaning and household errands.
  • Basic communication and record-keeping skills.

Remuneration: NGN 75,000 - 150,000
