Job Description/Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities.
Ensure a high standard of guest care is provided at all times.
Take all reasonable steps to ensure the health, safety, and security of the guests and staff
at all times.
Comply with all hostel policies, procedures and instructions and ensure that all required
hostel records are kept appropriately.
Ensure all hostel customer services and guest facility provisions are welcoming, clean,
comfortable and secure and maintained to appropriate quality standards.
Arrange and supervise the cleaning of hostel and public areas.
Responsible for inspecting all parts of the hostel, ensuring a safe secure and clean
environment.
Maintain effective routine communication with line Manager, particularly to take crucial
decisions.
Supervise meals, assist in menu planning and ensure good food hygiene.
Provide a full reception service to hostel guests, including check in, guest registration and
check out, handling participants’ enquiries and providing information, guidance and
support for training participants and their onward travels.
Arrange for and make purchase requests of items needed in the hostel, as well as request
for and supervise repairs and maintenance work carried out at the hostel.
Provide weekly written reports to line manager and keep proper documentation of all
activities and maintenance work carried out at the hostel.
Provide additional administrative support for team members as needed.
BSc/HND in Education, hospitality management or any other related discipline
At least 1 year experience managing a hostel or being in the hospitality space
Masters is an added advantage
Must be an organized person
Ability to demonstrate and maintain high levels of professionalism, integrity and ethics
Must possess effective report-writing skills.
