Heavy Duty Mechanic

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out repairs on heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
• The role involves routine servicing, major overhauls, and emergency breakdown repairs to ensure equipment availability.
• The mechanic will inspect engines, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and braking systems, replace or repair defective components, and conduct preventive maintenance according to maintenance schedules.
• Accurate documentation of repair and service activities is required.
• The role also involves working closely with maintenance engineers and auto electricians, ensuring all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
  

Requirements

• Must possess a technical certificate, trade test qualification, OND, or its equivalent in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience working with heavy-duty vehicles and equipment such as trucks, loaders, excavators, generators, and industrial machinery is required.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, braking systems, and powertrains is essential.
• The candidate must have a good understanding of preventive maintenance practices and fault diagnosis.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards is mandatory.
• The ability to read technical manuals and work independently with minimal supervision is required.
