EDUCATION
•
Minimum Qualification: BSC(Hons) Science, Engineering and Environmental Management
•
Must have completed all stages of HSE certification, such as ISPON Level 3 and or NEBOSH (IGC)
EXPERIENCE
Not more than 3 years of working experience as an HSE Officer in the Oil and Gas Industry.
JOB DESCRIPTION
•
Maintain a database for tracking action points arising from near misses, UAA, HSE meetings, accident reports etc., until actions are completed and closed out.
•
To prepare and develop all HSSE documentation for Contracts, Tender and Non-tender purposes.
•
Prepare and implement a programme of drills and exercises to test the preparedness of the workers for HSE emergencies.
•
Develop/implement a programme of regular inspections of all work areas/facilities to ensure that safe work practices/conditions are maintained. Assist all Departments on the Management/Monitoring of Contractor HSE performance.
•
Develop/sustain a system of Contractor HSE performance evaluation. Maintain database for tracking the HSE performance of Contractors.
•
To ensure that no work commences until a safe system of work has been identified and all participants have been briefed on the tasks to be done and any associated HSE hazards.
•
To always encourage the active involvement of all staff and subcontractors in health preservation, accident prevention, environmental protection and avoidance of community and security incidents.
•
To examine work practices, procedures, and conditions to ensure that no hazardous situations are introduced into the workplace.
•
To sustain a system of reporting and analyzing accidents (including near misses and environmental incidents) and of disseminating the findings of such accidents or incidents to all who may benefit.
•
To ensure, by a programme of self and group audit, analysis of accidents, near misses and unsafe act audits that deficiencies in equipment, procedures and work practices are continuously observed and corrected.
•
To ensure a high standard of housekeeping in offices, work sites and other facilities.
•
To train and certify that staff possesses the competence required for the execution of their duties.
