Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Review and Implementation:
- Review the curriculum and collaborate with teachers to ensure it meets educational standards.
- Promote student achievement aligning with the school’s vision, mission, and core values.
School Growth and Marketing:
- Develop and implement a marketing strategy to improve school growth.
Teacher Management:
- Train, supervise, and evaluate teachers to maintain a positive work environment
- Facilitate consistent professional development training for teachers and staff to stay updated on best practices.
Policy Enforcement:
- Enforce school policies and procedures relating to teachers and students to maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.
Community Engagement:
- Foster positive relationships with parents and the community to support the school’s vision and mission.
- Act as the spokesperson for the school, representing its interests to the broader community.
Special Education:
- Ensure learners with learning disabilities have access to an Individualized Education Plan after the relevant parties have conducted all assessments.
Assessment Coordination:
- Coordinate standardized testing and assessment processes to evaluate learners' competence and progress.
Requirements:
- A BSc degree in education, Educational Leadership, or a related field
- British and/or Montessori curriculum certification.
- Member of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a headteacher or school administrator.
- In-depth knowledge of implementing the British curriculum, with the Montessori curriculum as an added advantage.
- Hands-on experience in school administration tasks such as admissions procedures, policy implementation, and compliance with educational regulations.
- Use of data and technology in assessing students' and teachers’ performances to ensure standards.
Skills:
Language Proficiency:
- High proficiency in English Language, including speaking, writing, reading, and listening.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, teachers, and other staff.
Leadership and Management Skills:
- Outstanding leadership and management skills to oversee the daily operations of the school.
- Excellent organizational skills to effectively manage various aspects of the school and ensure growth.
Curriculum Development:
- Ability to develop, implement, and review appropriate developmental curriculum to meet the needs of students in line with the school's standards.
Knowledge of Educational Policies:
- A good knowledge of state and federal educational policies and regulations.
Technological Proficiency:
- Proficiency in educational technology to support teaching and learning.
