We are seeking an experienced, commercially driven, and results-oriented Head of Sales to lead the sales function of our ceramic manufacturing company. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies that drive revenue growth, expand market share, and strengthen the company's position within Nigeria.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy & Business Development:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies aligned with the company's business objectives.
  • Drive revenue growth by increasing market share across Lagos and other strategic regions.
  • Identify new business opportunities within the construction, real estate, hospitality, and commercial sectors.
  • Develop annual and quarterly sales plans and budgets.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.


Sales Leadership:

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the sales team to achieve business objectives.
  • Establish individual and team sales targets and monitor performance.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings, coaching sessions, and performance reviews.
  • Build a high-performance sales culture driven by accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Recruit, train, and retain top sales talent.


Key Account & Distributor Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with major distributors, dealers, architects, contractors, developers, interior designers, and retail partners.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and pricing structures.
  • Expand and strengthen the company's distributor network nationwide.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and long-term client retention.


Revenue Growth

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales revenue targets.
  • Increase product penetration across existing and new markets.
  • Develop strategies to increase repeat business and customer loyalty.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling products.


Sales Operations:

  • Develop and monitor sales forecasts and pipeline reports.
  • Analyze sales performance data and implement improvement strategies.
  • Ensure accurate sales reporting and CRM management.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Production teams to ensure product availability and timely delivery.


Marketing & Brand Growth:

  • Work closely with the Marketing team to execute promotional campaigns.
  • Participate in exhibitions, trade shows, and industry networking events.
  • Recommend pricing strategies based on market intelligence.
  • Enhance brand visibility across target markets.


Customer Relationship Management:

  • Ensure an exceptional customer experience throughout the sales process.
  • Resolve major customer complaints promptly.
  • Maintain long-term relationships with strategic clients.
  • Gather customer feedback to improve products and service delivery.


Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Finance to manage receivables and credit control.
  • Collaborate with Production and Supply Chain teams on inventory planning.
  • Support Management in business planning and strategic decision-making.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Sales Management, or a related discipline.
  • MBA or a master's degree will be an added advantage.
  • Professional certifications in Sales or Marketing will be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years' sales experience, with at least 4 years in a senior sales leadership role.
  • Experience within the ceramics, tiles, building materials, manufacturing, construction, paints, sanitary ware, or related industries is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience managing distributor networks and large sales teams.
  • Demonstrated track record of consistently exceeding sales targets.


Remuneration: NGN 600,000-800,000
