Job summary
The primary objective of the Head of Operations is to ensure efficient day-to-day operations, strong regulatory compliance, and operational readiness for scale. This role is central to building structure, discipline, and resilience across the business while supporting growth and service excellence.

Responsibilities:
Regulatory & License Management:
- Ensure compliance with all license and regulatory requirements e.g. MFB, Money Lenders License.
- Drive the renewal and maintenance of business licenses, permits, and statutory certifications.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies (e.g., CBN, State Authorities, CAC, NDIC) on inspections, reporting, and compliance matters.
- Support audits, examinations, and regulatory reviews by ensuring timely submission of required documentation.
- Track regulatory updates and ensure internal policies align with new requirements.
Operational Oversight:
- Ensure efficient and compliant day-to-day business operations across all units.
- Support the implementation of operational policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Monitor service delivery, turnaround times, and operational performance.
- Identify operational gaps and recommend process improvements.
- Ensure proper documentation of workflows and SOPs.
Risk & Compliance Support:
- Work with the Risk and Compliance teams to identify operational and regulatory risks.
- Support the implementation of risk mitigation measures.
- Ensure adherence to customer protection, data privacy, and financial conduct standards.
- Escalate compliance breaches or operational risks promptly.
Business Process & Performance Management:
- Track operational KPIs such as loan processing timelines, disbursement efficiency, customer complaints, and recovery performance.
- Support the development of performance dashboards for management review.
- Ensure teams are aligned with service quality and regulatory expectations.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Coordinate with Customer Experience to improve service delivery and complaint resolution.
- Support leadership with operational insights and execution of priority initiatives.
- Coordinate with People Team to ensure hiring plans meet business needs
- Align with other teams as the need arises
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or related field; An MBA is an advantage
- Minimum 7 years’ experience managing business operations in a fast-paced environment, preferably in a Financial Institution
- Experience in Financial services, Fintech, or regulated institution (MFB, bank, or lending firm)
- Knowledge of Nigerian financial regulatory requirements.
- Strong understanding of regulated financial operations
- Solid knowledge of compliance and licensing requirements
- Strong organizational and process management skills
- Attention to detail and high compliance discipline
- Ability to work with regulators and internal stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Calm under pressure especially during audits and inspections
- Proactive, dependable, and execution-focused
- Excellent time management and coordination skills
Work Mode: 100% Remote
Remuneration: NGN 800,000 monthly net (HMO, pension, and more)
