Job summary
We are a newly licensed Investment bank located in Lagos Island and require for immediate recruitment, a Head of Operations to oversee our operations arm of our core investment banking operations.

Responsibilities:
Operational Management
- Oversee and manage all back-office functions, including trade settlement, reconciliation, fund accounting, and reporting.
- Ensure accurate and timely execution of all financial transactions and activities.
- Develop and maintain robust operational processes and controls to mitigate risk and improve efficiency.
- Coordinate with front-office teams to ensure smooth transaction flow and resolve operational issues promptly.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure all operational processes comply with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with compliance and risk management teams to address audit findings and implement recommendations.
- Monitor and manage operational risks, including errors, fraud, and technology failures.
Technology and Process Optimization
- Work with IT and external vendors to maintain and enhance back-office systems and software.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements to enhance productivity and accuracy.
- Lead operational projects, including system upgrades, process redesigns, and integration initiatives.
Team Leadership and Development
- Manage and mentor the back-office operations team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Set clear performance objectives, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews.
- Ensure adequate training and professional development for team members.
Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare and present operational performance reports to management.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions and ensure proper documentation is in place.
- Support financial reporting and audit processes with accurate and timely data.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related fields. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, ACCA, CIMA) are an advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years in operations within the asset management or financial services industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of financial instruments, trade lifecycles, and settlement processes.
- Proficiency in back-office systems and tools (e.g., portfolio management software, reconciliation platforms).
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Effective communication and leadership skills
