Job summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Human Resources to lead the HR function for our ceramic manufacturing company. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing HR strategies that align with business objectives while fostering a productive, compliant, and high-performing workforce.

Responsibilities:
HR Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and implement HR strategies that support the company's overall business objectives.
- Lead the Human Resources department and provide strategic direction across all HR functions.
- Advise executive management on organizational structure, workforce planning, and people-related strategies.
- Establish HR policies, procedures, and systems that promote operational excellence.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning:
- Develop recruitment strategies to attract and retain qualified talent across production, operations, sales, and corporate functions.
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning activities.
- Build talent pipelines for critical and technical positions.
Performance Management:
- Design and manage the company's performance management framework.
- Support managers in setting performance objectives, conducting appraisals, and implementing development plans.
- Monitor employee productivity and recommend improvement initiatives.
Learning & Development:
- Identify organizational training needs and develop annual learning and development plans.
- Coordinate leadership development, technical training, and employee capacity-building initiatives.
- Promote succession planning for key roles.
Employee Relations & Industrial Relations:
- Foster positive employee relations and maintain a productive work environment.
- Investigate and resolve employee grievances, disciplinary matters, and workplace conflicts.
- Manage industrial relations and engage effectively with employee representatives where applicable.
- Promote employee engagement and workplace culture initiatives.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Oversee payroll administration in collaboration with the Finance department.
- Review compensation structures to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness.
- Administer employee benefits and welfare programs.
HR Operations & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian Labour Laws and other statutory employment regulations.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
- Oversee HR audits and ensure compliance with internal policies.
- Prepare periodic HR reports and workforce analytics for management.
Health, Safety & Employee Wellbeing:
- Collaborate with the HSE team to promote workplace safety and employee wellbeing.
- Support initiatives aimed at reducing workplace incidents and improving employee welfare.
- Ensure HR compliance with occupational health and safety requirements.
Organizational Development:
- Drive organizational culture and change management initiatives.
- Develop employee engagement programs that improve retention and morale.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance HR efficiency and employee experience.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or a related field.
- A master's degree or MBA will be an added advantage.
- Professional HR certification such as CIPM, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, HRCI (PHR/SPHR), or CIPD is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 7years' progressive Human Resources experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Previous HR experience within a manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
- Experience managing large and diverse workforces.
- Strong understanding of Nigerian Labour Law and HR best practices.
Location: Amodu ofin.
Remuneration: NGN 600,000-900,000
