Job summary
The Head of Finance is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership and oversight of the Company's financial operations, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury management, budgeting, reporting, tax administration, cost management, and internal controls.

Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Leadership:
- Develop and implement the Company's financial strategy in alignment with its business objectives and growth plans.
- Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to the CEO and Management on business performance, investments, expansion initiatives, and operational decisions.
- Drive financial planning processes and support management in achieving profitability and sustainable business growth.
- Serve as a strategic business partner to management by providing data-driven financial advice and recommendations.
Financial Planning, Budgeting and Analysis:
- Lead the preparation and implementation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, cash flow projections, and long-term financial plans.
- Monitor budget performance and conduct variance analysis, identifying financial risks, trends, and opportunities for cost optimisation.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management accounts.
- Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives, capital expenditure decisions, and business expansion projects.
Accounting and Financial Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation and maintenance of accurate accounting records and financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and statutory requirements.
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of management accounts, financial statements, and other financial reports.
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial transactions.
- Ensure proper maintenance of the general ledger and supporting accounting records.
Treasury and Cash Management:
- Manage the Company's cash flow, liquidity position, banking relationships, and working capital requirements.
- Oversee treasury operations, including cash forecasting, fund management, payments, and collections.
- Monitor receivables, payables, and cash conversion cycles to ensure adequate liquidity and efficient utilisation of funds.
- Recommend and implement strategies for improving cash flow and financial performance.
Manufacturing Finance and Cost Management:
- Develop and implement robust costing systems and procedures for manufacturing operations.
- Monitor production costs, material costs, labour costs, and overhead expenses to ensure cost efficiency and profitability.
- Analyse production variances and recommend corrective actions to improve operational efficiency.
- Provide financial support in inventory valuation, stock management, procurement planning, and pricing decisions.
- Establish and monitor key financial and operational performance indicators for manufacturing activities.
Internal Control and Risk Management:
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls, financial policies, and operating procedures.
- Ensure compliance with approved financial processes and authorisation limits.
- Identify financial risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Safeguard the Company's assets through effective financial controls and risk management practices.
Taxation and Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure timely preparation and remittance of all statutory obligations, including taxes, pensions, and regulatory filings.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable financial regulations, tax laws, and statutory requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, regulatory agencies, and financial institutions on behalf of the Company.
- Coordinate statutory audits and ensure prompt resolution of audit findings and recommendations.
Team Leadership and Performance Management:
- Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to the Finance and Accounts team.
- Establish performance objectives and ensure continuous development and capacity building of team members.
- Promote high standards of accountability, professionalism, integrity, and operational excellence within the department.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices across finance and accounting operations.
Business Support and Executive Reporting:
- Prepare and present financial reports, business performance analyses, and strategic recommendations to the CEO and Management.
- Support business planning, investment appraisals, feasibility studies, and strategic decision-making initiatives.
- Provide financial information and analysis required for negotiations, partnerships, expansion projects, and business development opportunities.
- Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the CEO or Management from time to time.
Requirements:
- Minimum qualification of a BSC.
- 6 years of previous experience in a similar role.
