Job summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sound credit administration processes, managing the Bank's loan portfolio, ensuring high asset quality, and driving sustainable loan growth while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and the Bank's credit policies.

Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and periodically review the Bank's Credit Policy, lending procedures, and credit administration framework.
- Lead the appraisal, evaluation, recommendation, and monitoring of credit facilities in line with the Bank's risk appetite and lending policies.
- Ensure proper credit underwriting, documentation, disbursement, and post-disbursement monitoring of all loan facilities.
- Monitor the quality of the Bank's loan portfolio and implement strategies to minimize non-performing loans (NPLs).
- Oversee loan recovery activities and develop effective recovery strategies for delinquent accounts.
- Review credit proposals and make recommendations to the Management Credit Committee and Board Credit Committee, as applicable.
- Conduct periodic portfolio reviews and ensure compliance with the Prudential Guidelines and other regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with the Marketing and Business Development team to drive quality loan growth without compromising credit standards.
- Monitor industry trends, sector risks, and economic developments that may impact theBank's credit portfolio.
- Prepare periodic credit performance reports, portfolio analysis, and management information for Executive Management and the Board.
- Ensure compliance with CBN regulations, AML/CFT requirements, KYC standards, and internal credit policies.
- Develop and implement credit risk mitigation strategies to protect the Bank's assets.
- Mentor and supervise members of the Credit Department to ensure high performance and continuous professional development.
- Drive continuous improvement in credit processes through technology and process automation.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Executive Management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Banking & Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Mandatory: MCIB certification.
- Minimum of 10 years' cognate banking experience, with at least 3 years in Credit Administration, Credit Risk Management, or Lending within a Microfinance Bank, Commercial Bank, or other financial institution.
- Strong knowledge of credit analysis, financial statement analysis, loan structuring, credit risk management, and loan recovery.
- Sound understanding of the CBN Prudential Guidelines, Microfinance Banking Regulations, AML/CFT requirements, and KYC standards.
- Proven ability to manage loan portfolios while maintaining strong asset quality and minimizing credit losses.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, report-writing, and decision-making skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Professional certifications such as ACIB, CFA, CAMS, FRM, CRM, or other relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage.
