Head of Communications

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the organization's communications and public relations strategy.
• Lead brand positioning and ensure consistency across all communication channels.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international media organizations.
• Oversee content creation for digital platforms, publications, reports, marketing materials, and social media.
• Translate complex social impact initiatives into compelling human-centered stories.
• Plan and execute publicity campaigns, media engagements, and stakeholder communication initiatives.
• Monitor communication performance and prepare periodic reports for management.
• Manage communications budgets and ensure efficient use of resources.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to the Communications team.
• Collaborate with program teams to communicate organizational impact effectively.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Mass Communication, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years' professional experience in Communications, Public Relations, Media, Branding, or Corporate Communications.
• Proven experience leading communications strategies for NGOs, development organizations, faith-based organizations, corporate organizations, or international agencies.
• Strong expertise in media relations, public affairs, corporate branding, and reputation management.
• Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and presentation skills.
• Strong understanding of digital communications, social media strategy, and brand management.
• Experience managing publicity campaigns and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
• Excellent leadership, project management, and team development skills.
• Knowledge of AI-enabled communication tools is an added advantage.
