Responsibilities:
Growth Strategy & Audience Conversion:
- Develop and lead a comprehensive growth and distribution strategy for Elevate Africa Connect, aligned with its phased rollout and ecosystem goals.
- Design and manage conversion pathways that move audiences from social media, events, and partner channels into owned platforms (e.g., email lists, learning environments, community spaces).
- Treat audience data and engagement as strategic assets, ensuring consistent growth in quality, not just volume.
- Prioritise diaspora audiences as a core growth segment, designing targeted outreach and conversion strategies.
Distribution & Channel Optimisation:
- Optimise existing distribution channels (e.g., email, LinkedIn, YouTube, partner platforms) to maximise reach, relevance, and conversion.
- Work closely with communications and content teams to ensure content is designed with distribution and retention in mind, not just production.
- Identify and activate non-obvious distribution pathways, including institutional partners, diaspora networks, convenings, and ecosystem collaborators.
- Ensure Elevate Africa Connect avoids over-reliance on single platforms, maintaining flexibility and resilience in distribution.
Diaspora Engagement & Market Expansion:
- Design and execute strategies to engage African diaspora audiences across key global markets.
- Translate diaspora interest into active participation, partnerships, sponsorships, and advocacy for Elevate Africa Connect.
- Work with partners and ambassadors to leverage networks for growth and distribution, without diluting brand clarity.
- Support targeted campaigns tied to key moments (e.g. convenings, launches, hybrid events) that prioritise data capture and follow-up.
Data, Insights & Performance Tracking:
- Establish clear growth, conversion, and engagement metrics for Elevate Africa Connect.
- Track and analyse performance across channels, identifying what drives retention, drop-off, and sustained participation.
- Use data insights to inform iteration, experimentation, and prioritisation of growth activities.
- Share concise, actionable growth insights with program, communications, and leadership teams.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Engagement:
- Work closely with the Program Lead to align growth strategy with ecosystem sequencing and capacity.
- Collaborate with content and communications teams to shape messaging, formats, and cadence that support conversion.
- Coordinate with partnerships to integrate growth goals into partner activations and co-branded initiatives.
- Support digital and operations teams in implementing tools and systems that enable automation and scalability.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Data, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in areas such as Growth Marketing, Digital Marketing, Analytics (e.g., Google Analytics or equivalent), Product, or Community Growth are desirable but not required.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in growth, audience development, distribution, or community scaling for platforms, ecosystems, or mission-driven initiatives.
- Strong understanding of conversion funnels, audience segmentation, and retention strategies.
- Experience working with diaspora, global, or multi-market audiences is highly desirable.
- Comfort using data and analytics to inform growth decisions.
- Ability to balance experimentation with discipline and prioritisation.
- Demonstrated practical experience and results will be prioritised over formal credentials.
