Job descriptions & requirements

Victoria Integrated Agro-Farms Limited is a wholly Nigerian-owned, large-scale integrated agribusiness located in Imo State. The organisation operates an automated poultry and feed-milling complex supporting commercial feed production, pullet rearing, layer operations, table-egg production and related poultry value-chain activities.

The Group Finance Manager leads the organisation's entire finance function and serves as the principal adviser to the Managing Director/CEO on financial performance, control, liquidity, capital allocation, funding and business decisions across feed-milling, poultry, farm, commercial and support operations.

The role will build the finance function from the ground up while stabilising existing records and processes. It owns financial reporting, planning, manufacturing costing, treasury, working capital, tax, audit, controls, financing and investor support, remaining strongly hands-on until the team and systems are fully established.

Finance Function and Team Leadership

●Establish and maintain practical finance policies, approval limits, chart of accounts, close calendars and reporting standards, with clear role ownership and service expectations.

●Lead, coach and develop the finance team, embedding accountability for accurate, timely and well-controlled execution; stay hands-on in critical reconciliations, close, costing and control reviews.

Financial Accounting, Reporting and Compliance

●Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, management accounts and supporting schedules within agreed timelines.

●Oversee the general ledger, receivables, payables, inventory, fixed assets and balance-sheet reconciliations, including resolution of legacy balances.

●Ensure timely Nigerian tax and statutory compliance, maintain audit-ready records and lead external audit and regulatory engagements.

Budgeting, Forecasting and Decision Support

●Lead the annual budget, rolling forecasts, cash projections and scenario models, linking financial plans to production, sales, procurement and capital requirements.

●Analyse performance against budget, forecast and prior periods and explain material revenue, margin, cost, volume, yield and working-capital variances.

●Provide clear commercial analysis for pricing, product mix, capital expenditure, expansion and other major management decisions.

Manufacturing Costing and Inventory Control

●Design and maintain standard and actual costing for feed formulations, raw materials, packaging, conversion costs, overhead absorption, yield and wastage.

●Ensure accurate valuation and control of raw materials, work in progress, finished goods, spares and, where applicable, poultry and biological assets.

●Reconcile production, warehouse and financial records; investigate consumption, yield, loss and stock variances and report product, customer and channel profitability.

Treasury, Working Capital and Funding

●Manage daily liquidity, bank balances, payment priorities, cash-flow forecasts and treasury controls to maintain uninterrupted operations.

●Drive collections, supplier-payment planning and credit control to optimise working-capital cycles; manage banking relationships, working-capital and capex funding, lender reporting and covenant compliance.

Controls, Audit and Board Support

●Strengthen controls across procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, inventory, production, payroll, banking and financial reporting within the finance system, with clear segregation of duties, and support Internal and external audits to timely closure.

●Prepare concise Board and Audit Committee packs and develop financial models, business cases and due-diligence information for financing, investment and expansion decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

● Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline.

● ACA, ACCA or an equivalent recognised chartered accounting qualification is essential (non-negotiable).

● Minimum 10–12 years' progressive finance experience, including at least four years in a senior finance-management, financial-control or full-function leadership role.

● Hands-on manufacturing or agribusiness costing depth is essential (non-negotiable) — standard costing, raw-material consumption, yield, wastage, inventory valuation, variance analysis and product profitability; direct feed-milling, poultry, food-processing or integrated-farm experience is strongly preferred.

●Hands-on Nigerian tax and statutory-compliance experience is essential (non-negotiable).

●Demonstrable end-to-end capability across reporting, budgeting, treasury, working capital, audit, controls, financing, modelling and team leadership.

●A track record of building or professionalising a finance function and cleaning up financial records is strongly preferred.

●Experience leading or materially supporting an ERP or integrated finance-system implementation is strongly preferred.

● Poultry cost accounting and biological-asset accounting experience are strong advantages.

● Willingness to be based in Ngor Okpala and to work regularly across mills, farms and other operating locations.
