Geologist

Responsibilities:

• Conduct geological fieldwork, including geological mapping and site assessments.
• Collect, record, and analyse geological and mineral samples.
• Support mineral exploration and mining activities through field investigations and data collection.
• Analyse and interpret geological data to support exploration and mining decisions.
• Prepare geological reports, technical documentation, and fieldwork summaries.
• Use GIS and geological modelling software to analyse and visualise geological data.
• Assist with the planning and execution of mineral exploration programmes.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Applied Geology, Geoscience, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in mining or mineral exploration.
• Practical experience in geological mapping, field investigation, sampling, core logging, and mineral exploration.
• Proficiency in relevant geological, GIS, and modelling software, such as ArcGIS/QGIS, Surpac, Leapfrog, Micromine, or similar software.
• Good understanding of geological data interpretation and mineral resource evaluation.
• Ability to analyze and interpret geological, geochemical, and field data.
• Good knowledge of exploration techniques and drilling operations.
• Strong technical report-writing and documentation skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to conduct extensive fieldwork and travel to project/mining sites when required.
• Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental practices in mining and exploration.
