Job summary
Lextorah is seeking a qualified, engaging, and experienced French Tutor to handle weekend French language classes (Saturday & Sunday) for students across different proficiency levels. The ideal candidate must be passionate about language teaching, capable of simplifying concepts for learners, and committed to ensuring student progress
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
Teaching & Lesson Delivery:
- Teach French language classes across beginner and intermediate levels where assigned.
- Deliver engaging, structured, and student-focused lessons.
- Ensure students develop competence in: Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing
- Maintain a professional and interactive classroom environment.
Student Engagement & Progression:
- Monitor student participation, understanding, and attendance.
- Encourage students to continue to the next level upon completion of their current course.
- Provide support and clarification to struggling students where necessary.
- Maintain positive relationships with students to improve retention and learning outcomes.
Exam Preparation (TEF, TCF, DELF, etc.):
- Prepare students for French proficiency examinations including: TEF, TCF, DELF, other equivalent French certification exams
- Design and administer practice tests and mock examinations.
- Train students on exam techniques, structure, and time management.
- Track readiness and performance of students ahead of examinations.
Academic Reporting:
- Maintain proper attendance and progress records for all students.
- Submit required student progress trackers and academic reports promptly.
- Communicate concerns regarding student performance or attendance where necessary.
Administrative & Operational Compliance:
- Resume classes promptly according to the approved timetable.
- Follow Lextorah’s academic and operational procedures.
- Work closely with the admin team on class coordination and student matters.
- Attend meetings or training sessions where required.
Performance Expectations:
- Consistent and timely class delivery.
- Positive student engagement and retention.
- Proper submission of reports and assessment materials.
- Improvement in student progression rates.
Requirements:
- Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in French language instruction.
- Strong command of French (spoken and written).
- Experience preparing students for TEF, TCF, DELF, or similar French proficiency exams.
- Degree or certification in French, Linguistics, Education, or related field is an advantage.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to teach both beginners and advanced learners effectively.

- Must be based in Yaba or within proximity (advantage).
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
