Job summary
We are seeking a reliable, physically fit, and detail-oriented Freight Staff member to support our daily cargo handling and freight operations. The successful candidate will assist in the movement, inspection, documentation, and processing of shipments while ensuring that cargo is handled safely, accurately, and efficiently. Candidates must be able to stand and remain active for extended periods and work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the receiving, inspection, sorting, and processing of incoming and outgoing cargo.
- Load, unload, move, and organize shipments safely and efficiently.
- Verify cargo against shipping documents to ensure accuracy.
- Label, package, and prepare shipments for dispatch.
- Assist with customs clearance and freight documentation when required.
- Ensure cargo is handled in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of cargo received and dispatched.
- Report damaged, missing, or irregular shipments promptly to the supervisor.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff, drivers, and other team members to ensure timely movement of cargo.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the cargo handling area.
- Adhere to all workplace health, safety, and security procedures.
- Perform other logistics and operational duties assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Minimum of an OND in any discipline.
- Previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics, warehouse operations, or cargo handling is an added advantage.
- Physically fit and able to stand for long periods during working hours.
- Ability to lift and move cargo where required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Honest, dependable, and willing to learn.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and follow instructions
Remuneration: NGN 120,000 Monthly
Location: SAHCO Complex, Cargo Terminal, Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos State
