Our client – operating in the FMCG sector is looking for a Financial Controller with experience in the Process Manufacturing Industry.

The role will be physically located in Dakar – Senegal.

Job Summary:

Execution of overall finance activities in Africa which includes managing control and responsibility for all financial aspects. Overseeing accounts and accounting functions – with particular emphasis on cost controls.

Primary responsibilities include:

Accounting, Costing & Treasury:

Take overall control of the company’s accounting functions
Monitoring costs, margins and profitability
Cost Accounting System: Develop, maintain, and analyze cost accounting systems to monitor expenses and inventory
Variance Analysis: Conduct inventory cycle counts, evaluate production costs, and analyze variances
Profitability Analysis: Analyze factors affecting prices and product profitability
Efficiency Enhancement: Identify cost-saving opportunities through detailed cost allocation and operational analysis
Manage company cash management policies and treasury functions
Ensure financial systems are robust, compliant, and support current and future business growth

Financial Planning & Taxation:

Lead corporate budgeting processes, forecasting, and financial planning
Provide financial analysis and guidance to support business strategy and decision-making
Ensure regulatory compliance for statutory bodies, taxation, and corporate finance

Strategic Leadership:

Contribute fully to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business
Provide leadership to implement Finance and Accounting strategy to optimise financial performance
Work with senior management teams to grow the business, including capital planning, debt, equity, disposals, and acquisitions
Establish strong working relationships with stakeholders, including senior executives, auditors, bankers, and tax authorities
