Finance & Projects Accountant
Job summary
The Finance & Projects Accountant will manage bookkeeping, reconciliations, project budgets, cost tracking, vendor payment controls, cash-flow monitoring, tax/statutory support, and financial reporting to ensure each project is properly costed, profitable, and financially controlled.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for income, expenses, vendor payments and client payments.
- Track project budgets, actual costs and profitability across events, gifting, décor and corporate projects.
- Prepare project cost reports before, during and after execution.
- Support cash-flow monitoring, payment planning and receivables tracking.
- Reconcile bank accounts, supplier accounts, client payments and internal records.
- Review vendor invoices, payment requests and supporting documents before approval.
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Support payroll preparation and related statutory deductions where required.
- Assist with tax, VAT/WHT, statutory filings and compliance documentation.
- Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports for management.
- Help identify unnecessary costs, budget overruns and financial leakages.
- Support pricing and cost reviews to ensure projects are commercially viable.
- Maintain proper financial documentation, filing and audit-ready records.
- Work closely with Operations, Business Development and Management to support project financial discipline.
Requirements:
- Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–4 years’ experience in accounting, finance, project accounting, bookkeeping or financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, reconciliations, budgeting and expense tracking.
- Experience with project costing or cost tracking is strongly preferred.
- Good understanding of cash flow, profit, margins, payables and receivables.
- Familiarity with Nigerian tax/statutory requirements is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets is required.
- Experience with Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero or similar accounting software is an advantage.
- High level of accuracy, confidentiality and integrity.
- Strong organisational and reporting skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced project-based business.
- Must be based in Lagos and available for hybrid/on-site work.
