Finance Officer

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all financial transactions of the cooperative, including savings, loans, investments, and expenditures.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with cooperative and regulatory standards.
• Develop and monitor budgets, ensuring proper allocation and utilisation of funds.
• Conduct periodic reconciliation of accounts, ledgers and bank statements.
• Track loan repayments, interest calculations, and default rates, ensuring proper follow-up and documentation.
• Assist in internal and external audits, ensuring all financial documentation and compliance requirements are met.
• Advise management on financial risks, cost-saving opportunities, and investment decisions.

Requirements:

• Minimum of an HND/BSc. in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in financial management, cooperative finance, or microfinance operations.
• Strong understanding of cooperative financial systems, loan administration, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or other cooperative finance platforms).
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
