Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to ensure optimal financial performance.
  • Produce management accounts and executive dashboards for decision-making.
  • Perform financial analysis and provide strategic recommendations to management.


Treasury & Investment Operations:

  • Manage the company's treasury activities, including banking relationships and cash management.
  • Monitor investment portfolios, fixed-income placements, and settlement activities.
  • Ensure effective reconciliation of bank accounts, client accounts, and investment transactions.
  • Optimize capital allocation and liquidity management.


Regulatory & Statutory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with SEC, NGX, CSCS, FRC, FIRS, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate statutory audits and regulatory examinations.
  • Prepare and submit all statutory financial and regulatory reports within required timelines.
  • Oversee tax planning, tax filings, and statutory remittances.


Internal Control & Risk Management:

  • Strengthen internal controls and financial governance.
  • Develop and maintain finance policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance best practices.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5–8 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role within stockbroking, investment banking, asset management, or financial services.
  • ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification is mandatory.
  • MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
