Job summary
Woodland Asset Management Company Limited seeks a highly skilled and strategic Finance Manager to oversee financial operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive initiatives that support AUM growth. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical finance expertise with deep knowledge of capital markets and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Monitor cash flow, profitability, and cost efficiency across the firm.
- Ensure adherence to IFRS and internal financial controls.
Regulatory Compliance & Governance:
- Ensure full compliance with regulations set by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
- Liaise with regulators on filings, reporting obligations, and audits.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SEC rules, guidelines, and market developments.
- Support the company’s licensing, registration, and ongoing compliance requirements.
Investment & Financial Instruments:
- Demonstrate strong management and knowledge of financial instruments, including: Equities, fixed securities, and treasury instruments; mutual funds, ETFs, and alternative investments
- Derivatives and structured products (where applicable)
- Provide financial insights to support investment decision-making.
- Work closely with investment and dealing teams to evaluate portfolio performance.
AUM Growth Strategy:
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the growth of Assets Under Management (AUM).
- Identify new revenue opportunities, product development ideas, and client segments.
- Support capital raising initiatives, investor relations, and business development efforts.
- Analyse market trends and competitor positioning to guide strategic expansion.
Risk Management & Internal Controls:
- Establish and maintain robust financial and operational risk controls.
- Monitor exposure to market, liquidity, and credit risks.
- Ensure strong internal audit processes and compliance culture.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with senior management on strategic planning and execution.
- Provide financial advisory support to business units.
- Manage and mentor junior finance staff where applicable
HNI Relationship Management:
- Support the management and retention of High Net Worth Individual (HNI) clients through timely and accurate reporting.
- Collaborate with other members of staff to deliver tailored financial solutions aligned with client objectives.
- Assist in capital-raising efforts by supporting engagement with prospective HNI investors.
- Identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and contribute to AUM growth through cross-selling and product alignment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Further education is an advantage
- ACA, ACCA, and CFA professional qualifications are an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive financial leadership experience.
- Experience in the Nigerian Financial Markets sector, preferably brokerage and asset management.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian capital markets, SEC regulations, and financial reporting standards (IFRS).
- SEC Sponsorship is an added advantage.
- Demonstrable proficiency in preparing financial statements
- Demonstrated experience in strategic financial planning, capital raising, and managing investor relations.
- Strong Capability with and preference for technology-based information solutions.
- Proven track record in building and leading high-performing finance and investment teams.
