Job summary

As Finance Lead at Hadi Finance, you will oversee end-to-end credit operations, from daily transaction reconciliation to loan book management. You'll own the monthly close, manage cash flow for Abuja-based lending, and ensure tax compliance. Requires 2–4 years of hands-on experience in fintech or microfinance. Salary: ₦400k net (On-site).

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

Reconciliation and Bookkeeping:

  • Reconcile daily transactions disbursements, repayments, and bank settlements — against internal records
  • Maintain clean, accurate accounting records across all company accounts and product lines
  • Work alongside the ops team to ensure field-collected payments are correctly posted and reconciled
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies quickly before they affect reporting or cash position


Financial Reporting and Month-End Close:

  • Own the monthly close process — P&L, balance sheet, and management reporting pack
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial reports in line with applicable standards
  • Translate ops data (disbursements, collections, portfolio performance) into clean financial statements
  • Provide the CEO with clear, accurate financial summaries to support decision-making


Cash Flow andTreasury:

  • Monitor company cash position daily across all accounts and product lines
  • Manage working capital flag liquidity gaps early and escalate to leadership proactively
  • Oversee banking operations and maintain day-to-day relationships with financial institution partners
  • Ensure funds are available for disbursement obligations without disrupting operations


Budgeting and Planning

  • Develop and manage the annual budget and rolling quarterly forecasts
  • Track actual vs. budget performance and provide variance analysis with clear commentary
  • Support financial modelling for new markets, products, and investor reporting requirements


Tax and Compliance:

  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of all applicable taxes (CIT, VAT, WHT, PAYE)
  • Maintain proper documentation for tax purposes and liaise with FIRS and relevant state tax authorities
  • Support external audits by providing accurate records and reconciliations as required


Business Support:

  • Collaborate with ops and credit teams to ensure financial data flowing from the field is complete and accurate
  • Serve as the primary finance contact for external partners, lenders, and investors
  • Identify cost optimisation opportunities and flag financial risks to leadership

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Professional certification: ICAN, ACCA, or CIBN required (part-qualified candidates with strong lending experience will be considered)
  • Experience
  • A minimum of 2–4 years of hands-on finance experience not oversight, not advisory, hands-on
  • Mandatory background in lending, microfinance, fintech, or financial audit
  • Demonstrated experience with loan book management, NPL tracking, and transaction-level reconciliation
  • Exposure to a lean or early-stage organisation is a strong advantage
  • Language & Location
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Based in Abuja or willing to relocate — this role is fully on-site
  • Strong technical expertise in accounting, reconciliation, and financial reporting
  • Deep understanding of lending operations: loan books, NPL ratios, collection tracking
  • Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets; experience with QuickBooks, Wave, or similar is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Nigerian tax obligations, CIT, VAT, WHT, PAYE
  • High accuracy, attention to detail, and personal ownership of financial records
    Analytical thinker who can translate numbers into clear insights for non-finance leadership
  • Proactive and self-driven — comfortable building processes in a lean, fast-moving environment
  • High integrity — trusted with sensitive borrower, investor, and company financial data
