Finance & Compliance Manager
Job summary
Marhaba Auctions LTD is seeking a highly qualified, detail-oriented Finance & Compliance Manager to own the company's full financial operations and regulatory compliance function. This role is critical to protecting margins in a high-transaction-volume, foreign-currency-exposed business, and to ensuring the company meets every statutory obligations

Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Own end-to-end financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles in coordination with the management and department heads
- Monitor gross margins per vehicle/transaction and flag cost leaks (auction overpay, shipping inefficiencies, port/clearing charges, demurrage) to protect profitability
- Maintain accurate books across multi-currency transactions (USD/Naira) and manage FX exposure
Tax, Statutory & Regulatory Compliance:
- Manage all tax filings, including VAT filing and compliance, and ensure timely remittance
- Handle statutory filings and government compliance remittances (PAYE, pension, NSITF, ITF, and other applicable levies)
- Ensure ongoing compliance with sector-specific regulators relevant to auction, brokerage, and import/logistics operations
- Maintain SCUML/AML registration and compliance documentation in preparation for future government contracting eligibility
Treasury, Risk & Internal Controls:
- Oversee treasury operations, including management of multi-currency payment gateways
- Conduct regular risk assessments and internal audits across financial processes
- Design, implement, and enforce financial policies and internal controls company-wide
- Monitor and mitigate currency fluctuation risk on pricing and margins
Payroll & Expense Management:
- Manage full employee payroll processing and statutory payroll deductions
- Oversee company expense management, invoicing accuracy, and reconciliation
- Supervise the Accounts Assistant on invoicing, reconciliation, and record-keeping
Governance & Strategic Support:
- Support the transition toward audited, public-company-quality financial reporting standards
- Provide financial input into franchise partnership agreements and revenue-share structures as the company expands
- Report monthly to the management, and participate in sales commission calculation reviews
Requirements:
- A minimum of a degree in a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience.
