Finance Associate

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records.
• Oversee loan disbursements, repayment tracking, interest calculations, and loan schedule updates.
• Perform bank, loan, and control account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support payroll preparation and ensure accurate statutory deductions and remittances (PAYE, pension etc.).
• Process vendor payments, staff reimbursements, and maintain proper expense documentation.
• Prepare month-end and year-end closing schedules, journal entries, and financial reports.
• Generate financial and loan performance reports to support decision-making.
• Assist with budgeting, cashflow planning, and costs monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
• Liaise with credit, collections, operations, and auditors as required.

Requirements:

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in finance or accounting 
• Experience in a loan, microfinance, or financial services environment is strongly preferred.
• Good understanding of loan accounting, payroll processes, and statutory remittances.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting/loan management software.
• Strong analytical, communication, and record-keeping skills.
• A professional qualification or part qualification (ICAN, ACCA, ACA) is an added advantage.
