Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Finance & Accounts Officer located in Benin City, Edo State. The Finance & Accounts Officer will oversee the day-to-day financial and accounting operations of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, proper bookkeeping, compliance with financial regulations, and effective financial management processes.
The role involves preparing financial statements, managing operational accounting activities, monitoring cash flow, handling tax and statutory obligations, supporting budgeting and financial planning, and maintaining financial integrity across the organization. The ideal candidate should be highly organized, analytical, trustworthy, and capable of supporting a fast-growing technology and creative company.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Operations & Accounting
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping and accounting records
- Record and manage daily financial transactions
- Prepare invoices, receipts, quotations, and payment documentation
- Monitor company income, expenses, and cash flow
- Reconcile bank statements and financial records
- Track outstanding payments and follow up on receivables
- Maintain proper financial filing and documentation systems
Financial Reporting & Planning
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports
- Support organizational budgeting and financial forecasting
- Monitor project budgets and operational expenditures
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to management
Compliance & Tax Management
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and financial regulations
- Handle tax-related processes, remittances, and statutory obligations
- Support audit preparation and financial accountability procedures
- Ensure proper internal financial control systems are maintained
Payroll & Administrative Support
- Assist with payroll preparation and staff financial documentation
- Manage vendor and supplier payment schedules
- Support procurement and operational finance activities
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure financial efficiency and compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Banking & Finance, or a related field
- Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, ICAN, ATS, or CFA is an added advantage
- Minimum of 1–3 years experience in a finance, accounting, or related role
- Prior experience working in a tech company, agency or SME environment is preferred

- Proficiency in financial statement preparation and analysis
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and finance management
- Expertise in accounting principles and practices
- Knowledge of Nigerian tax processes and financial compliance procedures

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/tools
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
