Finance & Admin Officer
Job summary
The Finance & Admin Officer plays a critical, dual-capacity role at AMARA MEDICARE. This position is responsible for ensuring the financial integrity of daily clinic transactions, managing payables /receivables (including HMO billing and reconciliations), producing timely financial reports, and overseeing inventory / fixed assets schedules.

Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Daily Reconciliation: Perform daily cash, POS, and bank transfer reconciliations for clinic transactions, ensuring zero discrepancy between the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system billing records and bank statements.
- Receivables & Debt Recovery: Actively track outstanding payments from HMOs and corporate partners. Investigate unresolved or disputed / rejected claims promptly to maintain a healthy Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) metric.
- Accounts Payable: Process payments for vendors, suppliers, and utility bills, ensuring all expenses are properly authorized, receipted, and categorized.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly cash flow summaries and monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) statements.
- Payroll & Compliance: Assist in monthly payroll preparation. Manage statutory tax deductions and remittances (PAYE, Pension, WHT, NHF etc) in line with state and federal regulations.
- Audit Support: Maintain clean, audit-ready physical and digital financial archives to support end-of-year internal and external audits.
Clinic Administration & Facility Management:
- Inventory & Procurement Control: Monitor and manage inventory levels for clinic consumables (drugs, stationeries, and cleaning supplies etc).
- Asset Registers: Maintain fixed asset registers and conduct periodic inspections.
- Regulatory & admin Support: Track and coordinate renewal dates for state and local business permits and local health authority clinical certifications (e.g. HEFAMAA), leases etc.
- HR Admin Support: Monitor staff attendance & off days.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
- Professional certification (or active progress toward) ICAN or ACCA is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of working experience in a structured finance/audit role.
- Industry Experience: Prior experience working in healthcare may be an advantage.
Technical & Soft Skills:
- Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with accounting platforms (Xero, QuickBooks Online, Sage, or Zoho Books).
- Microsoft Excel: Proficiency (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, conditional formatting, and financial data modeling).
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous organizational skills to manage various schedules.
- Assertive Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills.
