Job summary

The Field Support Officer (FSO) is responsible for providing on-site operational and technical support to merchants and agents. The role ensures the seamless deployment, maintenance, and optimal performance of POS payment terminals while delivering excellent customer service and supporting business growth within the assigned territory.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, install, and configure POS terminals at merchant locations.
  • Provide on-site technical support and promptly resolve terminal-related issues.
  • Conduct routine visits to merchants to ensure optimal device performance.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and basic network connectivity issues.
  • Replace faulty terminals and manage terminal inventory within the assigned territory.
  • Train merchants on the proper use and maintenance of POS terminals.
  • Respond to service requests and resolve technical issues within agreed timelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, and merchant visits.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with merchants to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to the appropriate support teams when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and service standards.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly activity reports as required.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of an HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in technical support, field operations, POS support, or a similar role.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking.
  • Experience with POS terminals or payment solutions is an added advantage.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to ride a motorcycle are an added advantage (where applicable).

Remuneration: NGN 75,000 per month
