Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Workflow Management:
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet deadlines.
- Ensure efficient workflow from fabric sourcing to final garment production.
- Allocate resources (manpower, materials, machines) optimally for efficiency.
- Work closely with the design team to ensure designs are executed correctly.
- Track production progress and resolve delays or bottlenecks.
Quality Control & Standardization:
- Maintain high-quality standards for all garments.
- Implement quality control procedures to check fabrics, stitching, and finishing.
- Conduct regular inspections and ensure corrections are made when necessary.
- Ensure adherence to brand aesthetics and garment specifications.
Team Leadership & Management:
- Supervise and manage tailors, cutters, artisans, and production assistants.
- Provide training and skill development for production staff.
- Monitor employee performance and efficiency.
- Enforce workplace safety policies to prevent accidents and injuries.
Cost Control & Inventory Management:
- Maintain and monitor fabric and material inventory levels.
- Work with suppliers to source quality materials at the best prices.
- Reduce wastage and optimize resource utilization to control costs.
- Track production costs and suggest cost-saving measures.
Vendor & Logistics Coordination:
- Liaise with fabric vendors, suppliers, and garment accessory providers.
- Oversee timely delivery of production materials.
- Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure seamless delivery of finished products.
Process Improvement & Innovation:
- Identify areas for improvement in production efficiency.
- Implement new techniques, machinery, and production methods.
- Keep up with fashion production trends and industry best practices.
Requirements:
- Minimum of Diploma or B.Sc. in Fashion Production, Textile Technology, or related field (preferred but not mandatory).
- Minimum 5 years in garment production or a similar role.
- Understanding of fabric types, garment construction (especially suits and traditional wear), and tailoring techniques.
- Proficiency in pattern making, cutting, stitching, and finishing.
- Management Skills: Ability to lead teams, delegate tasks, and ensure productivity.
- Problem-Solving: Quick decision-making skills to resolve production challenges.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure precise craftsmanship and finishing.
- Communication Skills: Effective in coordinating with teams, vendors, and management.
- Candidate must live within Lekki and its environs.
- Female Preferred
Location: Lekki, Lagos.
Remuneration: NGN 200,000 - 250,000 depending on experience.
