Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily farm activities, including livestock management, crop production, and resource allocation.
- Manage and lead farm staff, ensuring efficient task completion, providing training, and overseeing work schedules.
- Collaborate with executives to create and monitor budgets and financial reports, and ensure cost-effective operations.
- Ensure proper feeding, breeding, health care, and general welfare of livestock, including goats and poultry
- Schedule and oversee maintenance and repair of farm equipment and machinery.
- Ensure all farm activities and employees follow strict biosecurity measures to prevent the spread of diseases and protect the health of livestock and the farm environment.
- Maintain accurate records of livestock production, farm expenses, and staff performance.
- Stay updated with agricultural advancements and implement best practices to improve farm productivity.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or HND in Animal Sciences, Veterinary Medicine or a related field.
- Proven experience in Farm Management or a related role.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of budgeting, financial planning, and livestock care.
- Familiarity with agricultural equipment and technology.
