Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
Poultry Management:
- Plan and execute a daily feeding schedule
- Monitor bird health, behaviour, and environment
- Implement vaccination and medication programs
- Maintain proper brooding conditions (heat, ventilation, hygiene)
- Manage culling, mortality recording, and disposal
- Ensure correct feed formulation or feed purchase verification
- Track feed conversion ratio (FCR) and growth performance
Farm Operations & Supervision:
- Supervise farm attendants and labourers
- Allocate tasks and ensure work is done on time
- Maintain the cleanliness of poultry houses, pens, and water systems
- Monitor water supply from the borehole and storage tanks
- Manage electricity, generator, and fuel usage
- Ensure proper farm security and stock safeguarding
Record Keeping & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate daily records for:
- Feed usage
- Mortality
- Medication & vaccination
- Water consumption
- Expenses
- Inventory (feeds, drugs, equipment)
- Construction materials and labour (when needed)
Reporting schedule:
- Daily photos/videos via WhatsApp
- Weekly consolidated report (Google Sheets)
- Monthly operational summary
Welfare & Biosecurity
- Enforce strict hygiene standards
- Control the entry of visitors and vehicles
- Ensure proper disinfection of equipment, footwear, and pens
- Maintain farm-only clothing and boots
- Early detection of disease symptoms
- Implement corrective actions immediately
Procurement & Inventory
- Prepare purchase requests for feeds, drugs, tools, and materials
- Verify quality before accepting feed or chicks
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all items
- Prevent wastage, pilfering, or misuse of farm resources
Sales Execution:
- Manage buyers coming to the farm
- Prepare eggs/birds for sale
- Handle weighing when necessary
- Give daily sales updates
- Help identify nearby buyers
Expansion Readiness:
- Assist in planning new units
- Implement best management practices for new livestock
- Coordinate construction as needed
- Train workers and adapt operations for growth
- Responsibilities will extend to other livestock when started.
Requirements:
- OND/HND/BSc in Agriculture, Animal Science, Animal Health, or related field
- Hands-on experience with poultry production
- Strong record-keeping ability
- Good communication skills (daily reporting required)
- Understanding of farm equipment and maintenance
- Familiarity with biosecurity and disease management
- Ability to supervise labourers
- Experience with fish farming (not essential)
- Driving licence
- Basic computer/phone literacy (Google Sheets/WhatsApp)

Remuneration: NGN 70,000 – 100,000 monthly

Probation Period:
- 3-month probation, renewable once
