Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily care, feeding, and health monitoring of all livestock.
- Design and implement effective breeding programs to enhance livestock quality.
- Monitor crop growth for feed production, ensuring timely processing and formulation.
- Maintain appropriate housing, fencing, and general infrastructure to ensure animal safety and security.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all farm activities.
- Ensure optimal nutrition through pasture management and supplementary feeding strategies.
- Manage budgets and allocate resources efficiently.
- Operate farm vehicles, including motorcycles and/or cars as required.
Requirements:
- 0-1 year experience
- Degree in a related field
- Strong knowledge of modern and sustainable agricultural practices.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in financial management and budgeting
- Knowledge of crop cultivation and pasture management techniques
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Proficient in the use of relevant agricultural software and technologies
- Familiarity with Nigeria’s agricultural regulations and environment
- Willingness to relocate and integrate into the local community
- Valid motorcycle license and ability to drive.
- Prior experience in managing a start-up livestock farm is desirable.
