Job summary
We are seeking a Farm Driver (Logistics & Pasture Support) who will be responsible for safe and reliable transportation of hay, farm supplies, and produce, while also supporting pasture operations when not on logistics runs. This role is for someone who can drive like a professional, think ahead like a logistics guy, and work like a farm hand when the wheels aren’t turning.

Responsibilities:
Farm Transport & Routine Pickups
- Make routine pickups from the pasture farm 2–3 times weekly, as assigned.
- Transport hay from the remote pasture farm to the main farm consistently and on schedule.
- Ensure hay arrives dry, clean, and properly stacked/secured during transport (no wastage, no contamination).
Produce Deliveries & Errands
- Support the delivery of farm produce to customers/markets while combining routes with pasture pickups where possible.
- Run supply errands using the farm truck or farm bike (bike riding is an advantage).
- Collect essential farm items (feed items, veterinary supplies, tools, hardware items, farm inputs) as instructed.
Vehicle Care, Safety & Compliance
- Conduct daily vehicle checks: fuel, oil, water, tires, brakes, lights, mirrors, and basic roadworthiness.
- Keep the truck clean and operational; report faults early before they become expensive problems.
- Maintain basic trip logs: destination, mileage, fuel usage, pickups/deliveries completed.
Pasture & Farm Support Duties (When Not Driving)
Assist the pasture team with routine pasture work, including:
- Clearing/brush control and weeding
- Assisting with cutting/collecting forage
- Simple farm maintenance tasks as assigned
- Support general farm operations where needed (task-of-the-day support).
Coordination & Communication
- Communicate clearly with farm management on:
- Pickup schedules
- Any delays, breakdowns, or issues
- Follow instructions, confirm tasks, and close out each day with a quick status update.
Requirements:
- Valid driving ability with good road judgment and a safety mindset.
- Strong knowledge of local routes and ability to navigate rural roads.
- Physically fit and able to handle farm-related support work.
- Honest, dependable, and able to work without constant supervision.
- Willing to live on the farm (accommodation provided).
- Ability to ride a motorcycle/bike for quick supply runs and farm movement.
- Basic mechanical sense (able to identify issues early).
- Experience handling farm logistics (hay, produce, tools, livestock, and support materials).
Performance Expectations (What “Good” Looks Like)
- Vehicle is kept in working condition with zero avoidable breakdowns.
- No lost items, no damaged produce, no sloppy handling of hay.
- When not driving, you’re productive in the pasture—not “waiting for instructions” like a visitor.
Location: MDNI Farms (on-site) + routine trips to pasture farm and delivery routes
Work Schedule Normal work hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Routine pickups: 2–3 times per week (as scheduled)
Renumeration: NGN 80,000 – NGN 100,000 per month (based on experience)
Free accommodation on the farm (Performance-based wage review after probation (if performance is solid)
