Job summary

The Farm Business Manager is responsible for the overall commercial, financial, and strategic management of SIG Farms. The role focuses on ensuring profitability, operational sustainability, market expansion, business planning, budgeting, sales coordination, and efficient resource utilization across all farm enterprises.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

Business & Financial Management:

  • Develop annual business plans, production budgets, and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor farm profitability, cash flow, and operational expenditure.
  • Ensure efficient allocation and utilization of farm resources.
  • Analyze production costs and recommend strategies to improve margins.
  • Prepare periodic financial and operational performance reports.


Sales & Market Development:

  • Develop market channels for vegetables and other farm products.
  • Coordinate customer relationships, contracts, and sales agreements.
  • Identify new market opportunities and strategic partnerships.
  • Ensure pricing strategies maximize profitability.


Strategic Planning:

  • Develop expansion and investment strategies for the farm.
  • Coordinate greenhouse and open-field business growth.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market pricing.


Procurement & Inventory Oversight:

  • Supervise procurement planning and vendor management.
  • Ensure proper inventory tracking and stock accountability.
  • Approve major farm purchases and operational expenditures


Team Leadership:

  • Supervise administrative, sales, finance, and procurement functions.
  • Support staff development, accountability, and performance management.
  • Ensure departmental alignment with farm business objectives


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in agribusiness or farm management.
  • Strong financial and business planning skills.
  • Experience in agricultural value chains and produce marketing.
  • Financial analysis and budgeting, Agribusiness development
