Chaman Law Firm is seeking intelligent, competent, proactive and result-oriented lawyers to join the Firm as External Legal Associates.
The position is designed for qualified legal practitioners who can professionally handle matters assigned by the Firm, including court appearances, litigation assignments, legal drafting, research, client representation, property transactions, regulatory assignments and other professional engagements.
This is an external associate arrangement rather than a conventional full-time employment position. Associates will be engaged based on matters, assignments and the operational requirements of the Firm.
Responsibilities
Handle assigned legal matters professionally and diligently.
Represent the Firm and its clients in court proceedings where required.
Draft pleadings, motions, agreements, legal opinions, letters and other legal documents.
Conduct comprehensive legal research and provide practical legal advice.
Attend meetings, negotiations, mediations and other engagements on behalf of the Firm or its clients.
Handle property and real estate transactions, including due diligence, title investigation and perfection processes where assigned.
Liaise with courts, registries, government agencies and regulatory authorities.
Provide prompt written reports and updates on assigned matters.
Meet all filing dates, court dates and other professional deadlines.
Maintain proper records and documentation relating to assigned matters.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding the Firm, its clients and all matters handled.
Observe the highest standards of professional conduct, integrity and accountability.
Qualifications
LL.B and B.L qualifications.
Must be duly called to the Nigerian Bar and qualified to practise in Nigeria.
Valid practising credentials and compliance with applicable professional requirements.
Good knowledge of Nigerian law, court procedures and legal practice.
Strong legal research, drafting, advocacy and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and deliver assignments within deadlines.
High level of integrity, confidentiality and professional responsibility.
Must be responsive, dependable and result-oriented.
Ability to use technology and digital tools for legal research, communication and document preparation.
