Online English Tutor (IGCSE & A-Level)

Responsibilities:

• Deliver structured, syllabus-aligned lessons for Cambridge and Edexcel English (IGCSE & A Level)
• Teach across EFL, ESL, and EAL, covering reading, writing, speaking, listening, and grammar
• Prepare students for IGCSE, A Level, SAT English, and IELTS using past papers, exam-style questions, and mock tests
• Train students on exam techniques, essay structure, comprehension skills, and mark scheme expectations
• Teach academic writing, critical analysis, and literature (where applicable) to a high standard
• Develop students’ vocabulary, fluency, and accuracy in both written and spoken English
• Break down complex concepts using multiple teaching approaches and digital tools (annotated texts, live editing, interactive exercises)
• Assign structured homework regularly
• Provide timely, detailed marking and constructive feedback to improve student performance
• Track student progress and provide clear performance reports and improvement strategies
• Identify weak areas and implement targeted interventions
• Maintain a patient, supportive, yet firm teaching style to ensure discipline and consistent progress
• Adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and student needs
• Use online teaching platforms effectively (whiteboards, shared documents, quizzes, screen annotation)
• Communicate professionally with students (and parents where required) regarding progress, targets, and performance

Requirements:

• Proven experience teaching Cambridge and Edexcel English (IGCSE & A Level)
• Strong experience preparing students for SAT English and IELTS
• Ability to confidently teach EFL, ESL, and EAL
• Deep understanding of assessment objectives, mark schemes, and exam techniques
• Ability to teach reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, and literature
• Demonstrated record of excellent student results
• Experience with online teaching platforms
