Executive Accountant

Responsibilities:

Financial Recording and Reporting:

• Ledger Maintenance: Accurately recording daily transactions and maintaining the general ledger.
• Statement Preparation: Assisting in the preparation of essential financial statements, including balance sheets, cash flow, and profit & loss (P&L) statements.
• Account Reconciliations: Processing monthly reconciliations for bank statements, petty cash, vendor payables, and customer receivables.

Operational & Transactional Management:

• Payroll Processing: Handling employee payroll and managing staff settlements while ensuring timely disbursements.
• Document Scrutiny: Verifying financial documentation like Local Purchase Orders (LPOs), invoices, and delivery notes against system records to ensure compliance.

Financial Analysis & Support:

• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assisting finance managers in developing budget forecasts and analyzing financial trends.
• Cost Control: Providing data-backed insights on cost reduction and operational efficiency.

Auditing and Compliance

• Audit Preparation: Compiling necessary documentation and collaborating with internal and external auditors during reviews.
• Taxation: Computing and assisting with the submission of annual tax returns and statutory filings.

Requirements:

• Experience in the Maritime and shipping industry is compulsory
• Professional qualification is a must
  
• 5 to 10 years of post-NYSC working experience in the Account/Finance
  
• Must have experience or background in audit
  
• Sound Knowledge and experience of Accounts Payable
  
• Knowledge of working in Clearing and Forwarding Operations
  
• Bank reconciliation/ Vendor reconciliation
  
• Experience in Accounting software, Excel, Epicor/Oracle 11i/SAP Hana/ Tally
  
• Good communication skills
