Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct environmental assessments, inspections, surveys, and monitoring activities.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret environmental data, including air, water, soil, waste, and other environmental parameters.
  • Identify potential environmental hazards, risks, and areas of non-compliance.
  • Develop and implement environmental management and monitoring plans.
  • Prepare environmental reports, assessments, compliance documentation, and technical reports.
  • Monitor the environmental impact of company operations and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable environmental laws, regulations, permits, and industry standards.
  • Support Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Environmental Audits, Environmental Evaluation Studies, and related projects.
  • Monitor waste management, pollution control, environmental protection, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders when required.
  • Conduct environmental awareness and compliance training for employees.
  • Investigate environmental incidents and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of environmental monitoring activities and regulatory documentation.
  • Stay updated on environmental regulations, industry best practices, and emerging sustainability trends.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of an HND in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Geography, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years' relevant experience in environmental management, environmental consulting, HSE, oil & gas, construction, manufacturing, or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, pollution control, waste management, and environmental monitoring.
  • Experience preparing environmental reports and compliance documentation.
  • Knowledge of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) processes is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant environmental assessment/data analysis tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct fieldwork and work effectively in different environmental and operational conditions.
  • Professional certification or membership with a recognized environmental or related professional body is an added advantage.
