JOB SUMMARY
Susciety is a growing sustainability firm supporting clients to deliver integrated environmental and social solutions across Africa. We are seeking an Environmental & ESG Analyst to join our team.
This is a hybrid role critical in managing clients and key stakeholders, supporting the delivery of environmental and social projects, and ensuring clients remain fully aligned with evolving regulatory requirements. The position plays a pivotal role in Susciety’s growth in Nigeria by enabling effective client engagement, regulatory awareness, and successful project delivery through partnerships. The role reports directly to the principal consultant.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Environmental & Compliance Support
- Support the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and environmental audits
- Contribute to the implementation of Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs)
- Support environmental monitoring programmes and reporting activities
- Contribute to ISO certification processes (ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ISO 45001)
- Support risk assessments and compliance reviews
- Coordinate implementation of Quality Management Systems, including audits and certification support
- Assist in preparing technical reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders
- Collect, analyze, and organize ESG and environmental data
CSR & Social Impact
- Support clients in developing and implementing CSR/Social impact strategies
- Support the implementation and delivery of social and community development projects
Stakeholder Engagement & Regulatory Support
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including FMEnv, NESREA, NUPRC, and other regulatory bodies
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to integrate sustainability into clients business strategies.
- Support clients in obtaining necessary permits and licenses
Requirements
- Entry-level role requiring strong analytical capacity, and willingness to learn OR 2–5 years of experience in environmental, HSE, or sustainability-related roles.
- B.Sc. or MSc in Environmental Science, Economics, or a related field
- Understanding of environmental regulations and safety standards
- Knowledge of local and international environmental laws and ESG frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to manage and relationships with stakeholders.
- Experience in site inspections, audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with environmental data, climate datasets, or monitoring systems is an advantage
- Professional certifications (ISO 14001/45001, NEBOSH, IOSH, internal auditor) are a plus
- Experience engaging with regulators (NESREA, FMEnv, NUPRC, etc.) is an added advantage
