Job Summary
As our EIR, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of MadeIn! You will leverage your entrepreneurial expertise and network to develop innovative strategies and drive our growth trajectory. This is an exciting opportunity for a results-oriented individual to make a lasting impact on the African entrepreneurial ecosystem. Spurt! is seeking a passionate and experienced entrepreneur to join our team as an Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) for Made In Africa Brands (MadeIn!), an online platform connecting African creators with global markets and consumers. MadeIn! is a mission-driven platform amplifying the reach of African-made goods and services. We foster co-creation between consumers and creators, putting the best of Africa on the map. Through online marketplaces, curated content, and community building, we empower African entrepreneurs to thrive in the global market. Requirements:
- Proven track record as a successful entrepreneur with a passion for empowering African businesses.
- Strong understanding of the e-commerce and startup landscape, preferably with experience in Africa.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to think creatively and translate ideas into actionable plans.
- Prior experience building and scaling businesses is a plus.
- Fluency in at least two African languages
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Growth: Collaborate with the leadership team to identify and evaluate new market opportunities for MadeIn!
- Product Development: Lead brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas for platform features, services, and partnerships that enhance the user experience and expand our reach.
- Mentorship and Support: Act as a mentor and advisor to African entrepreneurs on our platform, providing guidance on business development, marketing, and scaling their ventures.
- Industry Engagement: Build and leverage a strong network of investors, partners, and key stakeholders within the African entrepreneurial landscape.
- Content Creation: Develop compelling content that showcases the talent and stories behind African brands, further amplifying our platform's impact.
