Role Description This full-time English Literature Teacher role is an on-site position located at LEAD BRITISH INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, Ibadan. The teacher will plan and deliver engaging English Literature lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum, ensuring that students develop strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills. Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and instructional materials, teaching classes, assessing student work, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining accurate records of progress. The role also involves creating a supportive classroom environment, integrating appropriate teaching resources, collaborating with colleagues on curriculum and enrichment activities, and participating in school events, meetings, and professional development.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong English Teaching and Teaching skills, with demonstrated experience instructing English Literature at secondary school level.
- Candidates should possess Lesson Planning and Education skills, including the ability to design curriculum-aligned schemes of work and differentiated lesson plans.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
- A bachelor’s degree in English, English Literature, Education, or a related field; a teaching qualification or license is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to use diverse teaching strategies, classroom management techniques, and assessment methods to support varied learning styles.
- Competence in integrating basic educational technology and digital resources into teaching and learning.
- Strong organizational skills, reliability, and a commitment to student wellbeing, inclusive practices, and continuous professional growth.
