Job summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Solar Engineer to design, install, and maintain commercial and residential solar PV and energy storage systems. You will play a vital role in advancing our renewable energy footprint, ensuring systems are highly efficient, reliable, and compliant with Nigerian and international electrical standards
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
Site Assessment & Feasibility:
- Evaluating the amount of sunlight a site receives and how obstacles (trees, nearby buildings) affect energy generation.
- Ensuring roofs or ground terrain can support the weight of the mounting systems and solar panels.
System Design & Modeling:
- Using design software (like AutoCAD) to create the physical layout of the solar panels, inverters, and wiring.
- Utilising specialised PV modelling software to predict long-term energy yields and return on investment (ROI).
Grid Integration & Electrical:
- Determining the correct DC-to-AC conversion requirements and energy storage needs for off-grid or hybrid setups.
- Designing systems that safely tie into the utility grid while meeting local electrical codes and interconnection regulations.
Project Management & Procurement:
- Specifying and sourcing the best components (panels, inverters, and mounting hardware) to fit the project budget.
- Managing electrical and building contractors to ensure the installation follows the engineered blueprint.
Requirements:
- Solar Engineer to design, install, and maintain commercial and residential solar PV and energy storage systems
- Deep understanding of electrical sizing, solar panel string configuration, and battery chemistry (Lithium-ion).
- 2 to 5 years of hands-on solar design and installation experience (hybrid/off-grid systems preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Renewable Energy Engineering.
