Job summary
The Electrical MEP Engineer is responsible for the planning, design coordination, installation, testing, commissioning, quality assurance, and maintenance support of all electrical systems across high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality, and mixed-use developments. The role ensures that electrical works are delivered safely, on schedule, etc
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Design & Planning: Review and validate external consultant drawings, schematics, and BOQs for high-rise constructability. Ensure seamless MEP coordination.
- Site Execution: Supervise daily electrical installations including HV/LV systems, transformers, switchgears, fire alarms, and smart building infrastructure.
- Contractor Management: Oversee subcontractors, certify progress payments, and lead technical coordination meetings.
- Quality & Handover: Enforce strict QA/QC processes. Lead the final testing, commissioning, and integration of all
- electrical systems.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a B.Sc in Electrical Engineering.
- 5 years post-qualification experience, with at least 2-3 years specifically leading MEP on high-rise or
- large-scale developments.
- Fully certified with relevant engineering bodies (e.g., COREN). Project Management certification (PMP/PRINCE2) is an advantage.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit (MEP), and high-voltage power distribution systems.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- 95%+ completion of milestones on time.
- Final electrical material/ labor costs within 5% of the approved BOQ.
- Less than 5% snag/defect rate during commissioning.
- Zero critical safety hazards or code violations on site.
