Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Teacher to join our international school. As an Early Years Teacher, you will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where young children can thrive and develop foundational skills. Our school follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, emphasizing play-based learning. This role requires excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for early childhood education. The selected candidate will be chosen by the Director of Schools in consultation with the HOS and Key Stage Coordinator.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement engaging lessons that meet the EYFS standards.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the developmental needs of young children.
  • Assess and document children's progress and provide feedback to parents and colleagues.
  • Maintain classroom discipline and promote positive behavior.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve the school's early years program.
  • Participate in school events, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development activities.
  • Uphold the school’s mission and values, serving as a positive role model for students.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and cultural inclusivity.
  • Adhere to school policies and guidelines.
  • Prioritize the safeguarding of children.
  • Attend assemblies and actively assist in the supervision of pupils.
  • Promote good attendance and monitor in accordance with the school’s attendance policy.
  • Be available for all parent-teacher conferences.
  • Attend all relevant meetings, including planning and training meetings.


Key Performance Indicators:

  • Effective teaching methods that engage all children.
  • Timely communication with parents and colleagues.
  • Adherence to school policies and active participation in meetings and events.
  • Classroom management and displays of student work.
  • Completion and implementation of lesson plans and professional development activities.
  • Positive attitude and interpersonal relations.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with teaching certification.
  • Additional certifications and 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Experience with the British curriculum is a MUST.


Working Language:
English

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 7:20 am to 4:00 pm, with occasional Saturday work as required

Location: Abuja, Nigeria
