Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed well designs, drilling programs, and cost estimates.
- Perform offset well analysis, pore pressure/fracture gradient prediction, and casing design.
- Select drilling fluid systems, bits, and bottom-hole assembly (BHA) configurations.
- Monitor daily drilling performance and ensure adherence to drilling program.
- Optimize ROP, mud parameters, hydraulics, and BHA performance.
- Ensure drilling programs comply with HSE regulations, industry standards, and well control guidelines (IWCF/IADC).
- Participate in well reviews, HAZID/HAZOP sessions, and safety meetings.
- Prepare post-well reports and lessons-learned documentation.
- Coordinate with service companies for tools, drilling fluids, logging, cementing, and completions services.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in drilling, completions, or well engineering.
- Valid IWCF/IADC Well Control Certification (supervisor level preferred).
- Strong knowledge of well control, drilling fluids, directional drilling, casing design, and rig operations.
- Proficiency with drilling software (Landmark, Compass, StressCheck, etc.).
- Experience with both onshore and offshore wells is an advantage
