Document Controller
Job summary
CMEC Nigeria Development Limited is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Document Controller to manage project documentation, maintain document control systems, and ensure the timely distribution, tracking, and archiving of engineering and project records in accordance with company procedures and project requirements.

Responsibilities:
- Establish, implement, and maintain an efficient document control system for all project documentation, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and traceability.
- Receive, register, classify, distribute, track, and archive engineering drawings, technical documents, correspondence, contracts, reports, and project records.
- Ensure all project documents are properly reviewed, approved, version-controlled, and issued in accordance with established document control procedures.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure timely submission and retrieval of project documentation.
- Maintain document registers, transmittal logs, revision histories, and document tracking databases, ensuring all records remain current and accessible.
- Support tendering, procurement, project close-out, and handover activities by compiling and organizing required documentation.
- Prepare periodic document control reports and ensure compliance with company standards, contractual requirements, and regulatory document retention policies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Library and Information Science, Records Management, Information Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in document control or records management, preferably within EPC, construction, infrastructure, power, or engineering projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word, with experience using Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) such as Zoho, SharePoint, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of document numbering, revision control, document transmittals, filing systems, and records management best practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage large volumes of documentation accurately.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively across multidisciplinary project teams.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Previous experience working with Chinese or international EPC companies will be an added advantage.
Working Conditions:
- Shared company accommodation (2–3 per room) and daily workplace transportation provided. (Candidates must provide their own laptop; meals are self-prepared in a shared kitchen.)
