Job Summary
The Distribution Engineer is responsible for the planning, implementation, operation, and maintenance of electrical distribution systems. This role ensures reliable and efficient power delivery by optimizing distribution network performance, analyzing system designs, and enforcing compliance with regulatory and safety standards. The position requires close collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to support uninterrupted service, system stability, and continuous improvement of utility operations.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and optimise electrical distribution networks to ensure reliable and efficient power delivery.
- Conduct system studies, load flow analysis, and technical evaluations to enhance system performance.
- Monitor, maintain, and update distribution system configurations to support operational requirements.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, and safety standards related to electric utility operations.
- Coordinate with field teams, engineering units, and operations departments to support the timely execution of distribution projects.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues within the distribution network.
- Prepare technical reports, design documentation, project proposals, and system upgrade recommendations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance distribution system reliability, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in electrical distribution design, planning, or operations.
- Strong understanding of electric power systems, utility processes, and distribution methodologies.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering design and analysis software/tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, CYME, etc.) is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of safety codes, industry standards, and compliance requirements for electrical utilities.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, operations-focused environment.
